* i ACCIDENT AT HANMER FERRY, W hilo Mockctt’s motor-car was ccrninpr from Hamner yesterday afternoon an accident occurred at the ferry cutting. Tlui (River was changing his gears, when three people, taking alarm, jumped olf the ear. One, a lady, was seriously hurt and had to bo ‘ taken back to the Hamuer Hospital. The others got off more fortunately, a, young man being unhurt and a lad escaping with a badly cut knee and a bruised head. THROAT CUT. [Peii Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 17. William August Isaacs, aged about forty-six years, was 'found with hi' throat cut in a boarding-house to-day. An inquest will bo bold to-morrow. ■ MAO 111 GIRL'S DEATH. [Pun Pkess Association.) WAiI!OA, November 17. An inquest was concluded on a, Native girl named, b.abu Poimwe, who died on Friday as the result of her horse colliding with a rnolor-ear driven by one Paul Lemuel Tettrupu. Tim jury found that death was caused bv collision with a car driven at excessive speed while the driver was under the influence of liquor. The woman was thrown on to the bonnet and then through the wind .screen to the back of the cur.
