The Secretary for Labour, -Mr Wilson, addressing a conference to deal .with the coni miners’ situation, declared that the miners' demands for a six-hour day, a tive-day week and a 60 per cent, increase in wages, were impossible. Ho added ibat the industrial life of the country could not continue if work were limited to thirty hours weekly.
