The men’s representatives of the Ironfouuders’ Union sought a conference with tho employers. It is hoped that this will result in a settlement of the strike, which has lasted for seven weeks, and directly involves 50,000 men. The number of dependent industries seriously affected is increasing daily. Several large motor-car linns threaten to close unless there is a speedy settlement.
