When Mennier was arrested he made a clash for liberty. He scrambled over a wall, but was recaptured. Madame De Ravisi. who was alleged to ha ve accompanied Meunier to vSwitaerland, was also arrested. (An overnight message stated: M. Paul Meunier, a member of the French Chamber of Deputies, was arrested when leaving an election meeting on a charge of treasonable ncgoUjitions with the enemy. While the police wore searching Mourners house, Meunier locked two inspectors in a room and fled- Tho inspectors quickly got out and followed Meuuicr's tracks in the snow for nearly two hours. When, approaching 51 cunier they fired revolvers, and the deputy lay down and surrendered.)
