There is a great outburst of militarist enthusiasm. Thousands of students and others stormed and cheered Hindenbnrg and LudendoriT while en route to give evidence before tho War Responsibilities Committee. A postponemeat of their evidence was necessary. Crowds loudly cheered the ex-Kaiser, hooted the Government, and denounced the Court of Inquiry, (Recent messages stated;— Hindenburg was accorded an enthusiastic ovation by great‘crowds on arriving to give evidence before the Responsibility for the War Committee. Ludondorff and other generals were present. ITindenburg kissed Ludendorff on both cheeks, tho crowd singing “ Deutchland über Alles.” Tho crowds which gave an ovation to Marshal von Hindenburg in Berlin included many soldiers carrying hags with the old national colours, singing war songs and shoutiup“Down with tho Republic!” mey maltreated opposition factious, liindenburg acknowledged tho popular goodwill, but showed some embarrass merit.)
