AMBERLEY v. WAIKARI-HAWARDEN. ■A match was played at Amberley cm Labour Day between Waikari-Hawarden (combined) and Amberley teams, the result being a win for the Amberley team by 25 -games. The weather conditions were ideal, and a very enjoyable day was spent by all. The results of the play were as follows (Amberley players being mentioned first in each instance):— Combined Doubles—P. The Oxford Tennis Glut), after a cessation of two years; opened its season l on 'Monday afternoon. There was a y eiry large attdhdance. Mr Alexander Baxter, dhairlian of the Conity Council, gave a short address, in which he commended the club for its resuscitation ; and- its great accession., of membership, recommended that every consideration be given to the novices.
