The plans will he forwarded to Wellington at an early date with a view to obtaining the consent of the honourable the Minister. 4t to-day’a meeting of the Hospital Board, tho Lady Superiutcndeut re-' ported the following resignations;— Sister Williams, who has been in charge Of the Memorial Home Infirmary; StaffNurse Turner, Akaroa Hospital, and Staff-Nurse Fee, who lias, completed her fourth year of service. To fill the vacancies, Sister Miles, Kalkoura Hospital, would be transferred to the Memorial Home ; and Nurse Morley would succeed Sister Miles at Kaikoura. Sister Knight had been appointed to take charge at Akaroa for a period of six months. ‘The following telegram was sent hv Mr Ell to-day to the Minister of Pub', lie Works:—“Am very pleased to be able to inform you- that I am returning with an authority to draw £IOOO towards the cost of forming that section of tho Summit Road between • Evans Pass and Mount Pleasant Road. This will shorten the distance considerably for road communication between Lyttelton and Christchurch, beside? providing those who niay visit Lyttelton, or; tourists who may journey 'from Lyttelton to Christchurch by bins road, with beautiful view's.
