A SPORTS DAY.
BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL EVENTS.
Tile Christchurch Boys' High School annual sports ’.veto hold ou fh? Hagley Park cricket ground to-day. The fixture dates bacit to the foundation of the school, in 18S1. when it was hold on Lancaster Park* To-day's ports were to have boon held last week, but were postponed on ae count of tho uncertain weather and to tha state of tho ground. Unfcrtnnatelv tho fall of rain last night again made {"ha ground rather 'heavy and, as in tho ceso or last week's Christ’s College rports, it was against re-cord-breaking. However, the sun broke through not long ,i,her tho snorts had commenced, and * rather troublesome southwest gradually subsided. During the ,war the boys decided to forgo the ordinaly prizes, in order that they might send contributions to the troops at the front, and contented themselves with certificates, but this year they are able to accept the usual prizes with a good heart. Tho judges were Messrs C. E. BevatjBrown, W. Walton, J. R. Montgomery. J. H. E. Schroder, J. R. Clmiuglls.ru, S, W. Hickmott, R. B„ Worker, C. Buchanan, It. Adamson, A. H. Joseph and G. J. Lancaster.
