ENAMELING THE BATHTUB.
If your bath till) does not happen to be the desired porcelain kind, and you do not feel it wise to exchange it at the present, you may achieve pleasing effect hy enameling your old one. It if not a difficult piece of work. All that you need, to do this, is plenty of soap and hot water, some rather line sand paper, and a good bath enamel. And, of course, a large amount of determination to do a good piece of work. First of all, the tub should be thoroughly scrubbed with hot water and soap and soda, and then carefully wiped 'try. Take a piece of line sandpaper md rub away any rough places, being :arefui to remove whatever dust this ■ubbing makes. Next, put on a coat if any good bath enamel, being caroul to paint it over smoothly and eveny. When this is dry, use the sand mper again, if there are any rough ilaces_ to be removed, and again be ;arefuT to wipe away any dust. Put on t second coat, and even a third, if that ;eems necessary or desirable, although ;wo coats are usually sufficient. One hould always be thoroughly dry before i second is added. When the last coat s well dried, the tub should be filed as nil as possible with cold water, which ihou.d be allowed to stand in it for two lays, for the doable purpose of removng the odour of the enamel and of harieuing it. A good bath enamel paint, larefully applied and well cared for, ivill give very satisfactory sendee.
