The New Jerk “ Evening Sun, 3 ’ commenting on New Zealand’s 20 per cent tariff on motor vehicles, says:— 11 It is clear that New Zealand means to protect homo industries, and wo arc the last nation in the world entitled to complain, since we set the example and still hold the principle- No country is potentially better able to take care of itself industrially than New Zealand. There is room for improvement in United State-s-Xcw Zealand trade, but it may not he wise to compete with them in goods they produce.”
