POULTRY CLUB.
NORTH CANTERBURY. The animal meeting of tie North Canterbury Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club was held last evening at Rangiora, ttio president (Mr C. H. Bull) presiding over a good atinadance ox members. The balance-sheet showed receipts lor the year to have been £lB2 Os lid, the cluct items being:—Show entrance fees £76 19a lid, door money £6O His 2d, special prizes £25 17s. and subscriptions £l9 Bs. The expenditure, including prize money (£B2 36a Gel) amounted to £157 ISs 2d, leaving a credit balance of £H 2s 9d. The assets wore £93 7s fid, and liabilities nil. The balance-sheet, which was the most satisfactory for some years past, was adopted. The president, on behalf of the club, presented duster G. Storey with the Lovell Cup, given for the most points gained in tie juvenile open section. Officers were elected as follow:—Patron tba Hon D. Buddo, M.P, and Messrs G. W Forbes, iLP.. C. W. Bell. T. Chapmen, \v! Blackett, W. Stalker, G- I. Leech, T. W. Ambrose, W. Smith, Edgar Stead, G.' L MiniSo, D. Ramsey, J. W. Foster. T. Leech! E. Mlntoeh, C. H. Bull and C. I. Jennings; president, Mr W. A. Banks; vicepresidents, Messrs T. Loveday, 3. Woods, sen, and T. Hills; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. T. Wilson; auditors, Messrs J. Marshall and C. L Jennings, Five now members were elected. Votes of thanks were passed to tho donors of special prizes, and to Mr C. W. Bell for the use of his room for committee meetings. Mr 801 l was also voted a guinea, which ho returned to the special prize fend. An honorarium of twelve guineas was voted to the secretary. Mr W. T. Wilson. it being the twenty-first anniversary of tho establishment of tho dab, tho following original members were elected life members. Messrs W. A, Banks, D. Ramsey, R. k' Reeve and W. Smith. Mr 801 l gave notice of motion that lady members should bo admitted at ,-n a- mn.i subscription of ss. It was resolved to forward a Trrrnt to the conference thaj the rule relating to championships should be amended to provide for championships being allotted every year amongst affiliated clubs, thereby doing away with the championship show, now a biennial fixture. It was decided to hold committee meetings on the first Tuesday in every month.
