MEETING OF BOARD. The Board of Governors of the M’Lean Institute mot yesterday ; present—The Mayor (Dr Thacker, M.P.), Bishop Julius, Bishop Brodio, the Rev E. M. Ryburn, the Rev P. N. Knight, Messrs S. E. M’Carthy, S.M., B. M. Molineux, and Mesdamee Wilson and Sandston, A report on the proposed now laundry at Holly Lea was received, the estimated cost being £217 10s. The chairman stated that the saving in one year in the work now dono at Quamby, and in fuel, would recoup the board for the outlay. T’ho Finance Committee was empowered to act in the matter. The question of improving the entrance on Colombo Street to make it safer for traffic was held over for an inspection. It was resolved, on the motion of Bishop Julius to rescind the previous resolution that no further applications for admission should be filled, and to receive and file all applications A report was received from the city electrical engineer on tho peed for overhauling the electric wiring in the basement of Holly Lea. It was agreed to obtain an estimate of the cost.
