DRAINAGE BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The Christchurch Drainage Board met last night; present—Messrs Walter Hill (chairman). F. Burgoyno, F. Storev, H. J. Otlev and H. Langford. The Works Committee reported that it would he a waste of money to cover the outfall dram at Bordesley Street, as it was in a perfectly sanitary condition. The complaint of overflow was quite unfounded. Regarding the letting of tic balance of the sewage farm reserve, the committee recommended that tenders should be called for leasing (a) tho bouse and one acre of land adjoining and (i) tie balance of tie land, both of which ware lately occupied by tic New Brighton Golf Club. The report wa.s adopted. The engineer reported that the deepening of Collie's Drain had been completed. It was decided to nominate 'Mr Langford for a scat on tho board of managers of the Technical College for tie combined bodies with which the board was associated.
