It is a comparatively long time since a large English, mail has been received in Christchurch, and the postal authorities here have no news as to when the next one is expected. . Mr W. H. Woods, of Ashburton, was admitted as a solicitor of, the Supreme Court, by .his,Honor.Air., justice Herdman this morning. On the whole, looking back on the struggle, there is no doubt whatever that we produce a higher class of fighting beings, of fighting angels in the air than any of the combatants whom we were compelled to encounter; we are capable ol producing them in larger numbers, aid of drawing them from more widely different classes of our race than , anv other country.-—Mr Churchill. . :
