Mrs Melvin, 31. G restor'd Street, has received cable advice that her son, Mr P. M. Yelvin, Y-M.C.A. field Secretary in Egypt for three years and a half, is returning by the Ehenga. The death occurred at Lincoln this morning of Mr Arthur Cookson, headmaster of the Lincoln District High School, who had been connected with the teaching profession in Canterbury for forty years. Air G. Harper haa written to the Mayor thanking him for inviting his son. Captain M. Harper, to the civic reception to Brigadier-General Andrew 'on Friday and stating that he regrete that as Captain Harper is at Cheviot and will not return xo Christchurch until Saturday lie cannot accept- the invitation-
