AUCKLAND I AND CHRISTCHURCH. SOME INTERESTING FIGURES. Interesting returns Concerning Auckland s electrical supply for the year ended March 31. have come to hand. Their total income for the year was larger than that at Christchurch, but their average price per unit was 2.08 d, whereas in Christchurch the average price was 1.53 d per unit. A rent, is charged for meters in Auckland, which brought in £1487, but in Christchurch no revenue is derived from this source. Ihe Auckland plant carried a solid load for just about six hours per dav. The average solid load per day in‘Christen urch was 7 hours 12 minutes- Auckland’s maximum Mad was about 3380 kilos, and Christchurch's 2600 kilos. It should be remembered that the Auckland plant is a steam-driven one, a*nd increase in utilisation.of current means increase in cost of generation, whereas with the hydro-electrical plant in Christchurch a similar increase does not swell the cost of generation.
