COLOSSAL FIGURES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received March 7, 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, March 6. In the House of Commons a vote for Supply for £210,000,000 was carried. Mr Baldwin pointed out thatthe current year's estimates for £495,000,000 represented a. decrease of £240,000,000 compared with those of last year. The principal items are £73,000,000 for pensions and £(50,000,000 for railway subsidy. Thel following are the increases:—£3,soo.ooo for public build£B,2so.ooo for roads and repairs. Mr Adamson urged increased salaries for members of the House of Commons, also the granting of free railway passes. There had beieu a considerable hardship on Labourites. Since the salaries were fixed in 1911 the cost of living had risen 120 per cent. Mr Bonar Law said that the Government had not agreed to increased salaries.’ It was estimated that the Government would reduce the Secret Service vote from £1,000,000 to £200,000.
