March 4, Five hranches of the Farmers’ National Organisation, irepresenting. all the organised farmers in the United States, have pledged President Wilson their support to the League of Nations proposal. REPUBLICAN PETITION. (Received March 5, 12.40 pan.) NEW YORK, March 4. T he Republican loaders consider that the petition is tantamount to a definite declaration that the incoming Senate, which will he controlled by the regulations, will not ratify the present League of Nations constitution, and that the Peace Treaty must bo signed before the League is organised, otherwise the Senate will not ratify either. JAPAN’S ATTITUDE. (Received March 5, 12.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 4. Tho “New York Herald’s ” Tokio correspondent states that apparently Japan will not enter the League of Nations unless race, discrimination against Japan is abolished by the nations in the League.
