The third annual meeting of the Festival of New Zealand Music was held at the City Council Chambers last night. The Mayor (Mr Holland) occupied the chair. The Mayor stated that the balance-sheet showed a deficiency of £4O. In other respects, however, the festival has been an unqualified success, having brought out a large amount of good local talent. He suggested that representatives should go round and receive contributions in order to liquidate the debt. It was decided, after discussion, .that .the committee should he so empowered' when the next festival is held. It was decided that a literary sub-committee should he appointed to choose those verses which might he considered suitable for setting to music for the next festival.
