A statement as ,to the employment by the Government of superannuated Civil Servants was made yesterday by the Mayor, who said he was in possession of the names of five superannuated men who were employed in one office alone in Auckland. Ho had been informed ;that a local firm, which received applications from sixteen returned' soldiers for a, position, had given it to a man who mad not been on active service.
