SETTLEMENT PROSPECTS. Statement by Miners’ Agent. [Pkr Press Association.] ■ GREYAIOTJTH, April 5. Regarding the conference at the Paparoa mine yesterday Air R. Semple P.aid a tribute to the work of the Conciliation Commissioner. The miners candidly approve of the Commissioner’s suggestions for a settlement. Air Semple admits that there is no legal victimisation, hut there is victimisation in its true souse. A principle is at stake that a man is the keeper of his own body, A miner went home because no was side. The mine manager wished to usurp the doctors duty ami say that the miner was not ill. The mine officials admit that there was no complaint against the miner previously, and that he was a good workman, who obeyed orders promptly. Mr Semple says that at the Stare mine a settlement is at hand. A meeting will be held tn-dnv.
