"PLAY THE GAME."
TO THE KDITOft. Sir,-- I have just re-read Homy Xow"bolt's blood-stirring "Piny the (iame," and, with the most abject apologies to the author, T have fashioned this;oxtra verso to suit our times and conditions, which I hope you will publish : The blood of tho battle flows afar. It stains the stop of the cotlaße porch; lien throw themselves to the glut of war; But riven and blasted they carry the torch Lighting the way where the paths are red, Forward with never a moan or blame, Onlv this cry to ihe rich from the dead; "Play up! play up! and play the game.' I am, etc., DEXYS O'SULLLVAX.
