DISABLED STEAMER.

ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, July 26. The disabled Union Steam Ship Company steamer arrived here at midnight. The accident occurred in heavy weather, which it is supposed was a contributing factor to the fracture of the bearings. It was a, very peculiar and unusual accident, tho source of which. has not been definitely settled, but thei-o is no suspicion of improper interference with the machinery. The engineers made temporary repairs, and the vessel was enabled to steam back to port at five knots. Repairs will be made here by the Union Company's shore staff.
