' THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. [Per Press Association-.] WELLINGTON, July 26. The members of the Legislative Council waited on the Governor-General this morning to present the plyOn returning, the Council resumed. Mr Carncross said that his Excellency had expressed deep regret at the illness of the Speaker. He also announced that the Speaker had arrived safely at Vancouver.
