TEMPORARY POLICE.
t I Owing to the exigencies of tho war, j the Commissioner of Police is filling ( future vacancies iu the Police Force from men in the First Division who have been classed as medically unlit ! for military service and from members of the Second Division of the reserve. Tho men selected will be installed a?-> temporary constables, to be employed during tho war period only. The temporary constables will be amenable to the same rides and enjoy the same privileges us at present operating in regard to tho permanent members of the police, force. Up to the present six applications have bc*Mi received by tho local Superintendent of Police for posi- | tion-s in the force.
