FEBRUARY MEETING. The only one-day mooting of the seaBon at Aldington will take placo tomorrow. It is seldom that any horses outside Canterbury patronise the February mooting, but there aro so many in work in the province, that quite sufficient are availahlo to provide good contests; in fart, in .some, of the raw* l tho holds aro altogether too Urge. Although tho stakes suffer somewhat j by comparison with those given by the \ club for its other meetings, most of | tho best horses are engaged and so mo j capital racing thouid be, the result, j Tho two-mile, harness race for trotters , has attracted some of the best of unhoppled horses in the Dominion, nnd keen interest, will be taken in that event. Although there is not a large field for the. Parliamentary Handicap, the chief event of the d:iy. it includes Admiral Wood and Adelaide Direct, nnd with the exception of ihe former there is only n margin of six seconds between the field. >o that an interesting race seems assured over tho whom journey. A very ppeedy lot of horses; aro in the mile and a quarter event, ! including Our Thorpe. The mile races, as usual, have rlrawn 1;mgo acceptances. I sixteen being in the harness event and | two more in the -addle race. The. meeting wili attract a pood deal of interest outside of the racing, from the fact ilia; Mr W.
