INVITATION TO DOMINIONS.

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received Julv SS. 1 p.m.) , LONDON, July 27: Tbe Lord Mayor, at Queen Alexandra's request, is cabling to the Governors of tho dominions asking them to issue an appeal in support of the Mansion House Fund for the Kitchener memorial, which has reached £152,500 in a fortnight. The Lord Mayor says he realises that the dominions have responsibilities in -caring for their own disabled men after the war, and that fe;v dominion soldiers will remain in England to participate in the benefits, but he feels the dominions will he glad of the opportunity to have a small share in the great national memorial. It is understood that tha Government will erect a statue. The fund will be entirely devoted to the help of disabled soldiers and to the establishment of an officers' home siaJlar to tho Star ami Garter, Richmond, which is for rankers. The Allies are sending contributions.
