A firo broko out to-night in Austin and Son's btndio. situated on the top storey of a building in Princes Street occupied by Braithwaite's Booksellers and Stationery Company. The upper portion of the building was gutted and considerable damage was done to stationery from water. The photographic business is insured for £IOO, divided between the New Zealand and Standard Offices. The. stock of the stationery business is insured for £7OOO, of which is in tho Guardian Office. Tho amounts distributed among other offices are not available. Tho damage and loss arfc estimated: —Studio £2OO, Braithv,-aite's £SOOO.
