NEW ZEALAND- ALLIANCE RESOLUTIONS. [Pee Press Association - .] WELLINGTON, July 19. Tho New Zealand Alliance to-day carried the following resolutions:— " That wo are strengthened in our conviction of tho need for six o'clock closing of liquor bars daring the war period by every phase of tho evidence which comes before ns, having corresponded with tho Mayors of sixty of the largest boroughs in the Dominion, and having received answers from fifty of them, and finding that while fifteen of them prefer not to give specific answers only six are / opposed, and twenty-nine are heartily in favour of closing at six. '"'Wo further urge up=n the Government the great national duty of legislating at once to secure the closing of burs at 6 p.m., or else provide for a referendum by which the people can decide for six, seven, eight, nine _or ten as the closing hour, which decision may become effective without a day's unnecessary delay."
