SP RE YD ON. Tne Spreydon Borongli Council met last night; present—the Mayor (Air W. li. Winson) and Councillors W. J. Elliott, G. li. Rudd, D. Williamson, E. O'Rourke, E. Hayes nr.d A. Munhiro. Tho Works Committee reported that the matter of tho invert in No. 1 drain as referred from tho council was discussed, and it was decided to defer decision till a future meeting'. Following on an interview from the chairman of tho Aadmgion School Comrnitteo regarding right-of-way along?:de Hr Moir's fence instead of tho iltrth-west boundary, it was resolved to refer ths matter to the council. The report was adopted. Tho Finance Comrnitteo reported that iho receipts since last meeting were £7O lis Jd. Tlioro were credit balances of £3llO 7s l.lct on the electric light acccunt, of £22 lis 2a on tho pit account, and ol" £4 18s lOd on tho loan interest account. The following were the suggested ratfs for the year 1916-17 which the committee recommended to be struck: —General rate, 2}d in the £; No. 1 loan, 1 1-1 (id; No. 2 ionn, 2 1-lGcl; tramway, 3-"id; sanitation, Us 3d a pan; hospital and charitable aid, 13-Gkl: rur.il drainage, j}d; and powage, 9-16 d. The matter of the rates was held over for a month, and the remainder of the report was adopted. Aec'-'tims amounting; to £2BS 5s Cd wore passed for payment.
