"The Moving Picture World," in referring to the honour, conferred on the 1 ' Metro 5 ' Company, says'' Nothing so far in the history of the moving picture industry achieved by a single firm can approach in distinction the award of place of honour that was bestowed upqn the 'Metro' Pictures Corporation on this occasion. In the evening an official dinner was given to Mr Francis X. Bushman and Miss Marguerite Snow, who presented the silent drama which was' staged at the Tower, and Bushman was proclaimed the greatest of all picture stars." "The Second in Command " is filmed in five acts and shows souio of the most powerfully realistic scenes of warfare ever enacted on the screen. It is stated that Francis X. Bushman quite eclipsed all his pre vious performances in this'drama, and the charmingly dainty artiste, Marguerite Snow, has never given a finer performance. .The picture has had a most successful run in Auckland and Wellington, and picture patrons should not mus seeing this first "Metro" production which arrives here with such , excellent credentials. "The Black Box" serial will be continued, the sixth series being shown, which is stated to be quite as thrilling as its predecessors.
