SOLDIER FAREWELLED.

A gathering of senior members of the Sydenham Football Club was lieJd last evening to bid farewell to one of their number.' Mr H. Bathuist. who leaves with the next batch of reinforcements. Mr G. "E. Good, vice-president of the Club, presided. Mr Docll, Club captain. presented the guest with a silvermounted pipe on behalf of those of his club fellows, with whom he had playod in the senior ranks during recent, years. Several toasts were honoured during' the evening, interspersed with musicaf items, and a, pleasant, evening was brought' to a close by the singing of " An Id Umg Syne " and the National Anthem.
