NEW BRIGHTON SAILING CLUB.
■ -^>—->-■■.. ANNUAL MEETING. The twenty-fifth annual meeting of members of the New Brighton Sailing and Motorboat Club was held in Kia Ora Tea Rooms on Saturday. The president, Captain A. W. Owles, was in the chair, aoid there was a large attendance. The report and balance-Eheet, presented by the honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr T. H. Rides, was adopted. It showed that the club had had a very successful season, both from a racing and a financial point of view. The prizes won during the past season were presented as lo.iows:—Champion flag and Rowland's trophy, Mr Fleming's Silver rieels; commodo.o's cup, Peacock and M'Neii's Ngairo; president'n prize, a kit of tools. J. Davies's Redskin; Chnstchurch Engineering Company's championship cup for speed boat, S. Simpson's Uiro. The pine money wod during the year was distributed amongst sixteen boats. , , . Owing to the war it is proposed auring the coming season to cut dowu the racing programme. , .^ Advantage was taken of the meeting to make a presentation to the honorary secretary as an appreciation of his great t-ervjees tii the club. ~ ._. ~ , 1 Officers were elected as follows: -President, I Captain A.
