STREET NAMES.
VARIOUHHANGES. TTio renaming of Gladstone and Stirling Streets, Sydenham, occupied the time of a special meeting of the City Council last night. It was decided, without discussion, to alter Gladstone Street to Wordsworth Street, and Stirling Street to Carlyle Street, and also to rename Carter's, Lane Dawson Stredt. The By-laws Committee reporting on the same subject, stated tihat Mr C. D. Matson had suggested that a signboard should be erected indicating whero Wairarapa Terrace ended and Strowan Road bogan, the latter road being a continuation of Wairarapa Terrace, situated in Waimairi County. The committee had given instructions for the erection of the board. Mr Matson had also drawn attention to the confusion caused by the of tho names Wairarapa Terrace and Wairarapa Terrace Road, the latter road running between Rossall Street and Wairarapa Terrace (almost opposite Office Road") there being also a Wairarapa Road' in Waimairi County. The committed recommended that the name of Wairarapa Terrace Road should be altered to Fulton Street. The recommendation was adopted.
