LICENSING COMMITTEES.

CHRJSTCHURCH. . The quarterly meeting of the Christchurcli Licensing Committee was held at tho Magistrate's Court at noon today ; present—Mr H. W. Bishop, S;M. (chairman), and Messrs C. E. Salter and Kenneth Matheson. An apology for absence was received from Br Tnacker, M.P. APPLICATIONS RENEWED. The following applications for publicans' licenses whicn were adjourned from tho previous meeting, were reviewed :—Cafe do Paris Hotel, Arthur Rose: JSinpire Hotel, A. h. Cock; Tattersali's Hotel, A. H. Griffiu; Walthaiu Arms Hotel, J. H. Spence. A further adjournment for three months was made in the eases of the United' Service Hotel, Joseph IVLindel. and Warner's Hotel, B. H. Price. TRANSFERS. The following transfers were confirmed Market Hotel, from Oliver Liddiard to Arthur John Johnstoilo, Royal Hotel, from Peter Helming to George M'Ltonald; Queen's Hotel, from Alfred William Whitehouse to Alfred Charles Hullett; King: George Hotel, from A. J. Meikle to George Andrew Duncan. Tbe application of W. J. Latcocibe for the transfer of the Shades Hotel to Joseph Israel De Malma&che, was adjourned until October 7. The meeting thee formally adjourned until Thursday. October 1-.
