FARMERS DAY AT LINCOLN
PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.
A large number of farmers attended at _ Lincoln College to-day. The usual inspection of the farming stock took up the greater part of the day, and great interest was taken in the various areas under cultivation.
At the conclusion of the speech-mak-ing following the luncheon, prizes were presented to the various successful students by the Hon'E. C. J. Stevens, chairman of the Board of Governors. The list of prizes is as follows: Diploma and Gold Medallist—R. W. Hawke.
Diploma and Special Prizes for Second Aggregate—A. M. Perham. Diplarms—R. Isaacs, G. H. Beale, J. H. Johrr'nne, E. W. Smith, H. B. D'Oyley, A. C. M'Caw. SPECIAL PRIZES. Ashburton Agricultural and' Pastoral Association's prize for the best knowledge of stock, shpphprding. shearing and wool-classing—A. M. Perham.
Rnknia farmers' prize for students having best knowledge of and doing best wo"k with imnlements and machinery—H. J. Andrew.
Pyne and Co.'s prize for judging stock at Addington—A. M. Perham.
Canterbury Frozen Meat Co.'s prize for best knowledge of price and weight of fat tamos and drafting—A. M. Perham and JT. Sowden. For best estimation of price of fat lambs at Addington—A. M. Pe'-hnm.
W. R. Osborne's prize for surgery, care and groomage of horses—A. W. Duncan. Booth, Mnedonalcl and Co.'s prize for best k"owlpdoro of farm engineering— L. J. Manning.
