There are prospects to indicate that the Masterton ".nd \\ airarapa distncts alone will contribute £IO,OOO towards the purchase of hoves lor tho expeditionary force; £BOOO has already been subscribed. . It is anticipated that W airarapa will bo able to supply 500 horses, also fodder and, full equipment of tne men free of charge. Great enthusiasm prevails m the country districts, and a splendid type of men is offering for active service.
