Mr Massey in a statement this morning, in consequence of rumours that the first section of the expeditionary force would leave to-day, said he wanted to say definitely that it will not Ictto to-day. Ho will give as much notice as possible idien the dato of departuro is fixed.

Mr W. D. Bpll, member for Wellington Suburbs, is included in the officers of the first section of the Expeditionary Force. The following arc officers of the Railway Engineers Company : —Captain St J. Keenan (Wellington), in command; Lieutenants T. M. Lucy (Dunedin), W. J. P. Guinness (Fi'ankton), J. J. Short (Dunedin), H. H Christophers (Ohakune), Quartermatter V. R. Bond (Wellington).
