ODDFELLOWSHIP.

NORTH CANTERBURY DISTRICT. The annual meeting of the New Zealand branch 1.0.0. F., M.U., North Canterbury district, was held in. the Oddfellows' Chambers on Monday, Prov. G.M. Brother T. J. Archbold presiding. Forty-three delegates were present, representing the sixteen lodges comprising the district. The Grand Master in his opening address reviewed the work done during the year, and stated that the membership was 2246. Sick pay paid during the year had amounted to £2470 10s, and funeral claims paid for the period totalled £730, making a total of £3200 10s for sick and-funeral benefits. Three hundred and sixty-six members had received sick pay. The following officers were elected : Prov. G.M., Brother H. Le Comte; Deputy Grand Master, Brother ■ E. Davidson; committee of management, Brothers H. E. Bobbins and G. Geen, P.G.'s, W. H. Browne, P.P.G.M.; book examiners, Brothers E. Kent, H. B. Veitch, P.P.G.M.'s, A. L. Winter, P.G.; auditor, H. B. Veitch; deputies ] to attend the biennial committee meeting to bo held at Wanganui on May .4, Brothers H. E. Robbins and E. Davidson, P.G.'s; H. H. Veitch, P.P. G.M.; H. Le Comte, Prov. G.M.; R. A. C. Rodgers, P.P.G.M.; Brother C. Millington, trustee. A proposal to form a district benevolent fund was considered. It was decided that owing to a majority of the lodges in the district being affiliated with the United Friendly Societies Benevolent Association it was not advisable to create another fund. It was resolved that, the Prov. C.S.'s salary should he increased £lO per annum. It was decided that, the fixing of management levies, salaries and remuneration of officers should be referred to the Management Committee to deal with. The Prov. G.M. and Deputy G.M.. elect were installed by tho retiring Grand Master, assisted by Brothers J. A. Clarke and J. Cleworth, P.P.G.M.'s. It was resolved that P.P.G.M. Brother T. J. Archbold should receive the P.P.G.M. degree, that his name should be placed on the merit board and that he should be presented with, the usual . testimonial.
