CHRISTCHURCH SPORTS CLUB.

Tho annual meeting of ";no Gl'ristchurch Sports Club was hell last evening at the Dominion Hotel. Mr W. J. Moir was in the chair, and there were eleven members present. Before the minutes of the previous annual meeting were read, there was a discussion as to the legality of tho committee's action in making an ap{. ointment of a paid secretary, ind it was shown that this was clearly in contravention of tho rules, and ibe appointment was left to the geneial body..of members. ' The chairman moved the idopt'en of the report and balance-sheet, a summary of which has already been published. The motion was.os?ried after a long discussion, in whict seTO'ai of the committee's ac£ic23 we e criticised. The following officers wei" elecijd:— President, Dr Simpson; vkepresiiuits, Messrs L. Matson, C. Wot.'fige, C. 31 Reid and —• Barnett; honorary medical officers, Di'.h Thacker, Sanson, "Whetter, Western'a and Loi.'sson, hou orary auditor, Mr F. Graham, jun.; honorary secretary, Mr H. B. Gould; committee, Messrs E. N'ordon, T. Robson. D. J. Guiney, F. A. Hornibrook, A. Dickson, F. Graham and AY. G. Atack. Mr Atac-k gave notice of an alteration to the rules giving authority for tiie appointment of a paid secretary if necessary. A vote of thanks was passed to the committee-for their services during the -past year, and also to Mr Hornibrook for his work ,ns acting honorary secretary. '
