The steamer Muirfioldhead arrived afire, having steamed at top'speed from mkl-oeean, where her cargo of cotton in the forward hold burst intra flames. Steam was injected with throe pipes, but failed to extinguish the lire. The civic apparatus suppressed, the outbreak, saving cargo worth £IOO,OOO.
