SWIMMING.

IYTTELTON CLUB. The annual meeting of the Lyttelton Gymnasium Amateur Swimming Club was held last evening, the . president (Mr E. R. Curtis) presiding over a large attendance. The annual report stated that the past season had been a fairly successful one. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £2 18s 6d. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows Patron, G. Laurenson, Esq., M.P.; president, Mr E. R. Curtis; vice-presidents, Dr J. Guthrie, Rev ill. 33. Chambers, and Messrs J. M. Miller, C. E. Brown, J. W. Watkins, W. H. Browne, E. U. Just, O. Ferrier, F. W. Anderson, J. W. Webb and_ N. Grainger; captain, Mi" A. Guy; vice-captain, Mr L. Derbridgo; secretary, Mr H. J. Newton; treasurer, Mr J. Gower; committee, Messrs J. Toomey, B. Rhind B. Toomey, F. Knight, O. Mazey, W. Brown and D. Page: auditors, Messrs W. Taye and J. E. Wilson; delegate to Canterbury Centre of the Now Zealand Swimming; Council, Mr J. Toomey; handicappers, Messrs C. E. Mazey and J. Gower; starter, Mr C. Mazey; check starter, Mr E. R. Curtis; timekeepers, Messrs J. L. Wilson and C. E. Brown. It was decided to hold the opening day on Saturday, November 29, at Corsair Bay, in conjunction with the Lyttelton Ladies 1 Amateur Swimming Club and the Lyttelton Yacht Club. It was also decided to apply to the Lyttelton Regatta Committee for the management of the carnival in the graving dock on January 1, 1914.
