The Court ordered that the verdict of acquittal should be set aside, and granted a new trial. EASEMENT GRANTED. The Court gave a decision this morning in tho case Stevens v. the National Mutual Life. Association of Australia, Limited. The Court held that the defendant Association had, acquired by prescription a right to light over the plaintiff's land adjoining its building, and was entitled to a declaration that as owner in fee of the eastern moiety of section ?38,_ it was entitled to an casement of light over tho western moiety of tho section in respect of four windows in the stone building, and to have a memorial of easement entered on the certificate of title, and was also entitled to have a memorial entered on the certificate of tho western moiety showing that tho land comprised in tho certificate was subject to the easement.
