THE GRAND LODGE. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May 15. The installation at the Masonic Grand Lodge of the Grand Master and the investiture of officers for the year, was attended by the largest gathering of Freemasons yet held in the dominion, and was distinguished by especial brilliancy by reason of the space advantages of the Town Hall and the use of the grand organ. M.W. Brother Thompson was enthroned by Past Grand Master Griffiths, and then announced his appointments as follows:—DeputyGrand Master R. W. Brother James Moncrieff (Carterton'): Provincial Grand Masters R.W. Brothers Allen (Auckland), Peterkin (Wellington), Stoneham (Otago), Timpinv (Southland), Harkness (West Coast), Harrison (Hawke's Bay), Redman (Nelson and Marlborough), Sargent (Taranaki); D.C. Senior Grand Warden. W. Brother W. Bradloy (Kainpoi); Junior Grand Warden. Brother Gilbert T. Bull (Gisborne); M.W. Brother Binns as ±Yovincial Grand Master of Canterbury, by election of the Provincial Grand Lodge. A proposal in favour of insisting upon the life insurance of candidates for membership of the craft was withdrawn. Motions in favour of postal voting and life membership of lodges were rejected. A proposal in favour of centring the Grand Lodge Office permanently in on© of the cities was carried, both on the show of hands and the ballot. Motions for biennial communications were lost. This concluded the business.
