BAZAAR AT SUMNER.

A bazaar for the purpose of raising funds for the erection of a pavilion at the howling green, Sumner, was opened yesterday afternoon by tho Mayor, Mr (t. W. C. Smithson. The hall presented a very attractive appearance, the result, giving groat credit to the ladies who had engaged in its decoration. During the day good business was done by the stallholders. Fn tho evening the Sumner Bmss Band played selections outside the hall. The bazaar will bo continued again to-mor-row afternoon and evening. The stallholders wore as follow :- Plain and fancy stall. Mesdames Ferguson, Hunt, Neville and Dearsloy : flower stall. Mesdames Harris and "Vosey and Miss Williams; sweets stall. Mesdames Scales and Loasby and Misses Benson and Donks; doll stall, Mesdames Smithson, Heslop and Andrew ; produce stall, Mesdames Wood, Marriner and Tail, and Misses Wood ; tobacco stall, Misses Shand and Gunn; shooting gallery, Mrs Levie, Mr Howard and Masters Laurenson, Farmer and Taifc; tearoom, Mesdames Line, Bassett, Allen. Burrows and Misses Wood and Simpsen ; bran-tub, Mrs- Beardsley. Misses 'Ponder. Anuitage. Wright, Bain, and M'Oovvil also assisted during the da v.
