Mr L. Va-ngioui, of Akaroa. is visiting Christchurch during "' New Zealand Week." Mrs Gus Schaef died at Greymouth to-day, aged seventy. She had been a- resident since 18G4. Mr J. Cowan, the author of "A History of tho Maoris" and other works dealing with the Maori race, is in Christ-church. Mr J. Macdonald. Government photographer, is in Christchurrh. lie is taking kinematograph photographs illustrating the N*w Zealand's visit to Lvttelton. The Hon R. Heat-on Rhodes, Post-master-General, Minister of Public Health and Acting-Minister of Defence, will be in attendance in the Provincial Council Chamber on Saturday, from 10 to 11.30 a.m.. to receive deputations, and to transact departmental business.
