BOWLING.
THE AMALGAMATION OF ASSO-
CIATIONS. [Per Pkess Association.] WELLINGTON, April 26. A meeting of the delegates to the North Island Bowling Association was held last evening, Mr T. Bush presiding. It was reported that there was a credit balance of £lO 7s over the Auckland tournament, while there was a small credit over the visit of the southern bowlers to Wellington. The alteration of the rules as concerning the amalgamation of the Northern Bowling Association and the New Zealand Bowling Association was then considered, and evoked a good deal of discussion.
It was agreed that the championship should be held in turn in Dunedin, Auckland, Cliristchurch and Wellington, and also that when it was held in Dunedin there should be a tournament also in Wellington, and when the championship tournament was in Auckland there should be a tournament in Cliristchurch, and vi-e versa. The question as to several districts forming centres was then arranged, and the clubs in the several centres were fixed as follows:—-Auckland North 22. Auckland South 19, East Coast 9, Manawatu 7, Wairarapa 7, Wanganui 9, Taranaki 11 and Wellington 17. The balance at the credit of the Northern Bowling Association was stated at £250 9s 2d. It was decided to allot the sum of £75 to the new Association as a nucleus of a fund for working expenses, and the allocation of the balance was deferred until the next meeting.
