PIGEON FLYING.
The Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flew of! n young bird race from C'ulverden on March SO. Sixty-iwo birrid were scut, representing seventeen owners. Tho birds were liberated by the stationmaater at 12.30 p.m., in good, culm weather. The winner was Mr A. i'mlayson's tied Indian, which, flew the distance of 58 miles -150 yards, air lino, in ihr 26iu in 49sec. The following is the. result:—A. Tho Society al bo flew off a race from Kaikoura on April 13. Sixty-two birds were sent, representing seventeen owners. The birds were liberated at 11 a.m., in good weather, a slight easterly wind biowin?. The winner tens Mr Finlayson's Pensez a Moi, which flew the distance "of 102 miles 1.136 yards air line in i!hr 36min 20sec.
