THE REDEMPTORIST MISSION
A SUCCESSFUL OPENING. , The mission of the Redemptonst Fathers at the Catholic Cathedral bocan yesterday, in the presence overflowing congregations. The missioned are the Rev fathers Creagh, Lynch and AVhelan. . , ,' . The Very Rev Father Price, Administrator of the Diocese, in welcoming the Rev Father Creagh.at the morning service, apologised for the absence ot the Bishop, who was conducting his triennial visjt to. Rangiora. * a ™f Price stated that the Bishop deeply regretted that he was not able to be present to personally' welcome the mission-, ary. The mission conducted last year in the Cathedral by the Redemptonst order had proved phenomenally successful, and the speaker was sure that the present mission would be equally successful. It was" unnecessary to introduce the Rev Father Creagh to the congregation, as'the Redemptonst lathers needed no introduction in any Australasian church. Father Creagh opened the mission after eleven o'clock mass, speaking of ■itp\objects, and at 3.30 a special se* vice for children was addressed by i<ather Creagh. In the evening Father Lynch preached on "The End of Man".to a crowded congregation. Duriijg. this week there will be a 'mass' and sermon each day for 'adults at 6 a.m., and a service for adults and children at 7.30 p.m. Cb.ildreif s services will be held also at 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. The missioners extend a hearty welcome to all church people to attend the services.
