He declared himself in favour of the ultimate unification of Australia. Referring to the rumoured split ill tho Labour Party over the referendum, he sraid that there was no split. Messrs M'Gowen and Holm an and himself beleived. that the Federal Parliament should be clothed with power to enforce tho New Protection, to nationalise monopolies, and to impose uniform industrial conditions, but they thought that the powers sought were greater than were actually, required to give effect to these- principles. THE HON D. F. DENHAM'S VIEWS. (.Received March 18, 10.20 a.m.) BRISBANE, March 18. The State Premier, in a speech last night, declared that those who were running the referendum were the most intolerant people in the world. They were asking Australians to destroy the Federal Constitution, -which would topple over their heads or give place to a unification scheme.
